Swiftcurrent Pass
This morning Ben woke up at the crack of dawn to get us into the park. Permits are required from 6am-5pm, so we needed to get in before then- or so we thought!! Turns out that rule didn’t apply to this hike on the east side of the park. Better to be safe then sorry I suppose!
I vlogged too, so you’ll be able to watch this in live action later on.
The hike to Swiftcurrent Pass is 8 miles, so the out and back trail is 16 miles total. At the beginning, it was pretty flat and we passed several lakes.
We were sharing the trail with a lot of people who weren’t doing the whole thing. It’s a different experience that way, constantly saying hello and moving aside for people.
We both enjoyed the back half of the hike more, when the elevation gain began and more people dropped off. The views started to get incredible too! We’re still working on Ben’s poses…
Ben insisted on going all the way up to the lookout at the tippy top. I declined and waited for him at the pass :) He got a marginally better view up there, in my opinion…
On the way down the sun started to come out!
We topped off the day with some “Mountain Blackberry Berry Vanilla” soft serve from the Swiftcurrent gift shop. This ice cream HIT THE SPOT after the long day of hiking.
