Washington Roadtrip

At the end of this week we left our spot near Chelan and drove west, further into Washington.

Thursdays have become Ben’s big “meeting day.” He typically has 3 and they start pretty early. So on Thursday 7/15, we left our camp spot and headed into the small town of Chelan to get service.

Not many ideal places to park, but we made it work in a shady spot in the neighborhood. Parking by the lake was $15 for 2 hours!! No thanks!

After he finished up, we continued driving west. There were some raging fires in that area. We pulled over at one point because we saw a helicopter picking up a huge bucket of water and dumping it onto the flames. Pretty cool to see in action!

We’ve been getting our fruit mainly from local fruit stands along the road. Cherries are to die for, peaches, nectarines, apricots, and apples all sooo good! At this place, we got some delicious pluots (plum/apricot) and a bottle of elderberry wine, which we still haven’t cracked open yet!

We made it to Leavenworth, Washington and pulled over to check out an art market. It was such a cute town! We decided to stay the night. It worked out perfectly because they had an overnight parking lot dedicated to campers/RV’s, for free! As long as you only stayed one night.

I jumped for joy when I looked over to see Ben creating this spreadsheet!!!! He plotted out tour dates for bands that we like coming to this general area. We are itching to attend a show again after so long, so this will definitely be coming in handy.

Our last stop was a Planet Fitness in Everett to shower. I caught up with some of my friends (via Marco Polo) and a big group of them were going out on the town to celebrate a birthday that night.

Heading into the Cascades Ben and I both felt a little “ugh.” Missing friends and family for sure. You can’t have it all!
